As we continue our efforts of fulfilling BMO’s commitment to creating and sustaining a diverse work environment, the BMO Capital Markets NYC Scholarship is aimed at cultivating more opportunities for our future leaders of tomorrow and making a positive difference in the lives of students who experience barriers.
Partnering once again with the Francis Lewis High School (FLHS) to work with graduating students interested in financial services, we opened applications for the F’24 grant, and we are excited to announce this year’s recipients – Lucy Li and Sebastian Ospina. Lucy will be starting at Baruch College as a Finance major this September and Sebastian is working towards a BBA at Binghamton University.
“Over the past three years, we’ve helped six talented students pursue their academic goals and we’re proud to be able to add another two names to our list.” says Brad Rothbaum, Senior Advisor. “Every year the applicants continue to get more and more impressive, and many members of the Selection Committee have noted this year to have the strongest pool of candidates. I’m so proud of the work we’re doing to make a real difference, and the program would truly not exist without the support of the Selection Committee and our partners.”
In partnership with Equity Through Education, BMO Capital Markets will fund tuition up to $10,000 per year (up to four years) for two new students each year at a CUNY or SUNY school of their choosing.
In its fourth year, we’re continuing to build relationships with the talent of future generations by creating opportunities for a variety of engagement and mentorship opportunities as well as gaining work experience through summer internships. We are thrilled to welcome back Omar Malik, one of our inaugural recipients and returning summer intern, as he embarks in another summer term as a Business Analyst Intern with our CM T&O partners.
We look forward to supporting Lucy and Sebastian on their respective degrees and future careers within financial services and are eager to welcome back Omar.
