Now in its third year, the BMO Capital Markets New York City High School Scholarship Program has continued to provide inclusive opportunities for the leaders of tomorrow.

In June, as part of the commencement program at the Francis Lewis High School, BMO announced the recipients of the 2023 scholarship award – Cynthia Hernandez and Ahnaf Mirza.

As part of the award, both will receive full tuition funding for their college program at a City University of New York (CUNY) college. They’ll also participate in a number of engagement opportunities and events within Capital Markets, including mentorship with our leaders to learn more about the financial industry and opportunities to grow their futures within the sector.

“I’d like to congratulate Cynthia and Ahnaf and welcome them into the BMO family,” says Brad Rothbaum, Managing Director & Head, U.S. Global Markets. “Both have displayed strong leadership qualities in pursuit of strengthening their communities, in addition to their academic achievements. I’m proud to be part of an organization that takes an active role in helping nurture the future generations of financial leaders.”

We’re also pleased to welcome past recipients of the program, Kaitlin Li, Jasmin Medina and Michelle Luo, to the Capital Markets team as they begin their summer internships.

“When we began this program, we wanted to create talent pathways for future leaders through financial support and tangible opportunities to drive access, learning and promote inclusive growth,” says Brad. “Today, we’ve made important progress and I am proud of the work our Capital Markets teams have done to drive positive impact and grow the good.”
